I'd read the David Pogue NY Times column after Apple dropped Firewire altogether from the newest MacBooks; he railed at the dying light of Firewire, since now his older video cameras had no way to communicate directly with the newest Macs. Thank goodness Apple is preserving some sort of Firewire on the desktop models. Yes, Bruce, thanks for pointing that out.
